Terrorists

I remember years ago I was creating a section on my old website, a tribute, to show my support for the people who lost their lives and gave their effort, patience, money, and support to those who did in the aftermath.

Today upon entering work one of the topics of conversation that came up between some of my fellow co-workers was that of the eradication of terrorists. While I couldn't agree more that we need to stop the terrorism, going out and arresting all of a religion is not the way to handle it.

The example cited by my fellow co-worker was that a mouse here in Houston was being picketed, when asked if they would help at the root of the problem by working with us to produce the terrorists, they would not. Why they didn't want to help is unknown, perhaps they have their own reasons. But one of the reasons we live in a free country is so people can make choices like that.

There are people of all religions, including those of Indian descent, assisting the investigation around the world (as the top of the attached news article states). But arresting everyone in an entire religion because a leader of that religion didn't assist the investigation is not right. It may be un-American, but it's not illegal. It would be totally different if the leaders of the religions were telling all those that were members of the religion that they couldn't in-fact help. The media has skewed the people of Indian descent that are out there and are willing and able to help, and are already doing their parts because they don't want to be unfairly classified as an extremist.

In America there's about 2,957,341 (as of about 2002) Muslims, arrest them all? Are there really about three million terrorists?
